Charles DeCarli UC Davis

Dr. DeCarli is a clinically trained neurologist, influential physician-scientist, and leading figure in Alzheimer's and related dementia research. His work uses advanced structural and functional brain imaging to study normal aging, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia. In particular, his lab focuses on the role of genetics, cerebrovascular disease and Alzheimer's disease on aging processes in the brain. Dr. DeCarli serves as the Director for both the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at UC Davis and the Imaging of Dementia and Aging (IDeA) Laboratory, which has produced widely applied neuroimaging analysis methods for aging and dementia research.

The UCI Medical Scientist Training Program presents our annual Distinguished Lecture Series, featuring Dr. Charles DeCarli from the University of California, Davis. In this seminar, Dr. DeCarli will draw upon his expertise in the field and recent research advances to give an update on vascular contributions to cognitive impairment. Following Dr. DeCarli’s presentation, we will have dedicated time for Q&A, so we encourage you to post questions virtually and also unmute yourself to ask questions during this time. We look forward to your attendance and participation at our virtual seminar!
