Clinical Experiences During PhD Years:
Currently, UCI MSTP has implemented a program to allow those students in their PhD years to participate in clinical experiences in practices throughout Orange County. This opportunity will allow students to maintain and improve their clinical skills such as taking patient histories.
Clinical Entry Program:
The Clinical Entry program is designed to smooth the transition for
MSTP students from grad school to the clinical years of med school.
The program is intended to supplement the orientation sessions
provided for the regular med school class before the MS3 year, but
tailored to the needs of MSTP students. Students meet with attending
physicians, chief residents and MSTP students in their MS3 andf MS4
years to find out what to expect as a third year medical student.
MSTP students should inform the Clinical Advisor, Ming Tan
<mingt@uci.edu>, about a year before they plan to finish their Ph.D.
so that they can be included in the activities of the Clinical Entry
program.
